IREM Looks Back on 75 Years of Industry Success
Triangle real estate association explores national organization's history and status of local chapter at July 16 meeting

/North Carolina News Articles/ - RALEIGH, NC, July 04, 2008 - The July General Meeting of the Institute of Real Estate Management Greater Raleigh-Durham Chapter 105 (IREM) will provide a history of the organization to its members and guests on Wednesday, July 16. Region 13 Vice President, Jason Stowe, CPM, will present "IREM's 75th Anniversary and Why You Are Here". The meeting will be held at Stonehenge Apartments' Clubhouse and Pool located at 7303 Helhenge Court in Raleigh.

"The theme for my presentation is to explore why people join IREM," explains Stowe. "Why do we volunteer? Why do we go to meetings? Why do we accept a position on the board or committee? I hope to uncover these reasons in my presentation, as well as let our members know what is going on within our industry nationally and what they can expect from their local Chapter."

Stowe says that his reasons for joining IREM were based on professional necessity. After being thrust into property management, Stowe was introduced to IREM and said that the association provided him with the resources and contacts he needed in order to thrive in his new career.

"IREM has enabled me to pursue new goals of becoming a better real estate manager and defining my role in the real estate market," explains Stowe. "The knowledge of the membership of IREM and the willingness to share that knowledge are unmatched in the real estate profession. But the most important thing to me that makes IREM special is the people. Sharing the common thread of 'real estate manager' brings value to the designation, but the global network of friendship is priceless."

Stowe, the Vice President of Income Properties of Raleigh, is currently serving a two-year term as Region 13 Vice President. In his role, he is responsible for guiding, advising, and supporting seven IREM chapters within his region, which covers North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. He serves as a two-way information conduit between IREM's officers and Headquarters and the Chapters and also serves as media spokesperson.

Guests, Associate members, and Student members are cordially invited to attend this event. A $30.00 fee, payable in advance, is required. Please make checks payable to IREM Chapter 105, 4824 Wyatt Brook Way, Raleigh, NC 27609. Reservations are required to Candi McDowell, IREM Association Executive, (919) 863-8057 or candimcdowell@yorkproperties.com by Friday, July 11. For more information, visit www.irem105.org.
