Amy Alexander Elected to Statewide Board

RALEIGH, NC, April 01, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Amy Alexander, chief operating officer with Atlantic Tire & Service, has been elected to serve a two-year term as treasurer of the Futures for Kids (F4K) board of directors.

Atlantic Tire & Service in recent years has won awards for its community service activities, and Alexander plans to continue those philanthropic efforts in her new role with F4K.

"I'm honored to have been elected to serve on the F4K statewide board and will work diligently to bring my corporate experience in banking and now as COO with Atlantic Tire to my treasurer role," said Alexander.

Alexander manages a variety of activities at Atlantic Tire & Service, including human resources, accounting, marketing and public relations. Prior to joining Atlantic Tire & Service in 2007, Alexander began her career in the banking industry in 2000 as a branch manager, and has worked for both Capital Bank and Central Carolina Bank. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in forensic anthropology from Appalachian State University.

As a North Carolina native growing up in Hillsborough, Amy developed a passion for children and education fueled by her parents' philanthropic nature; her mother and father were house parents to orphaned children at the Crossnore School for Children, and her father served on the Orange County Board of Education.
