Scotty McCreery's Blue Crew to Appear at Garner Expo
"American Idol" Contestant Draws Attention to His Hometown

GARNER, NC, April 03, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Before he was an "American Idol" hopeful, Scotty McCreery was a typical Garner teen who loved baseball, music and hanging out with his "Blue Crew" buddies while rooting for the Garner Trojans.

Although Scotty's star is rising in the music field, he hasn't forgotten the Blue Crew and they certainly haven't forgotten him. Earlier this season, he gave a shout out to them on "American Idol" and the Crew - which includes James Booth, Kyle Wiggins, Kyle Tobin and Colin Perry - subsequently flew out to Hollywood and cheered on Scotty from the audience.

Proud of the exposure Garner has gotten through "American Idol," the Blue Crew has agreed to appear at the Garner Business & Consumer Expo to meet the public and sign autographs. The Scotty McCreery Fan Club will also be exhibiting at the Expo selling t-shirts and other merchandise, with proceeds going to charity.

"Mayor Ronnie Williams has joked that Scotty is the 'unofficial' economic development coordinator for Garner and you can definitely see why," said Garner Chamber President Neal Padgett. "His popularity has certainly introduced people from around the country to Garner."

The 2011 Garner Business & Consumer Expo is free to the public and will be held April 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Garner United Methodist Church, located at 201 Methodist Drive. The Blue Crew will appear at the Expo from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
